Whether for the home fireplace, the hunting lodge, the garden, forestry maintenance, the scout, bushcraft, the axe as one of mankind's oldest tools is still an important object of use for many activities.
If you are history, weapon or reenacting enthusiast and looking for a good quality polearms at Jorgen Craft we offer hand forged weapon perfect for use at living history camp, reenactment battles, melee or skrimish (blunt or sharp).
All our polearms are hand forged. We make spearheads and axe heads using mostly carbon steel. We also make custom products to your specification.

Petersen Type-F Spearhead Pattern Welded With Open Socket

This Type-F Spearhead has been forge welded from wrought iron, spring and mild steel. Blade is constructed from three parts, low layer twisted pattern, wrought iron and spring steel (EN45) cutting edge. Open socket is made from mild steel.
Type F spearheads generally have a length of 30-60cm with most being between 50-60cm (long and thin socket, the blade is widest as it joins the socket). Spearheads like this (Petersen Type F) originate from the 9th and 10th Centuries and have been found in Sweden, Norway and the Baltic, as well as in England. Possibly a precursor to type I spears.
This spearhead is inspired by find from Cookham, original is located in the British Museum, dated 9-10th cent.
One of the oldest weapons and tools, a spearhead defines the functionality of a spear. And this spearhead will define it at its best. It is technically devised for re-enacting Viking/European Historical combat.

Petersen Type-E Spearhead Hand Forged from Spring Steel

This Type-E Spearhead has been hand forged from EN45 spring steel with satin finish and blackened socket. Petersen describes the blades of this type as having 'an almost regular width' along its length and it being 'not especially pointed' (Short socket with a subtle transition into a long leaf shaped blade). Spearheads like this (Petersen Type E) originate from the 9th and 10th Centuries and have been found in Sweden, Norway and the Baltic, as well as in England.
