The Birka Viking Coin Purse or Tarsoly was found in the ruins of the trading and craft town of Birka, Sweden. Dating from approx. 900AD. The purse from grave 949 was found with 1 and 1/2 silver Arabic coins still remaining inside. In total 52 purses were found in 47 graves (men, woman, children and unknown graves). From all analyzed purses, 28 were made of cow leather, 3 calf, 2 goat leather and 5 were tanned with alum.
The purse would be a great addition to your Viking or larp gear. Its perfect for carrying coins, dice and small objects.
